Change Comes in 3’s
- My team has grown with a new Team Coordinator,
- I moved back to Montreal, and
- I collaborated in a book with Brian Tracy and 28 other authorities in their field, and it became an #1 International Best Seller.
All wonderful AND… each an invitation for me to discover habits, patterns, and reactions I haven’t had to engage in a while.
It all began innocently with my new Team Coordinator coming on board. I am thrilled! It means I don’t have to do everything by myself, AND, it also invited new discoveries. I’ve been running my business alone for a long time. Having someone new come on board, who asks questions and challenges me was an invitation for me to notice how singular and habituated I had become.
When we don’t invite change into our life we miss the patterns and habituations that form.
Living and working by myself had removed me from being challenged. It was another lesson in learning I have a hard time letting go. Not having to do everything means I had to learn to let go of control.
YIKES!!! I don’t have control issues…then again maybe I do. I noticed my defence system kicking in. Luckily my team coordinator is curious, stands his ground and is willing to engage in conversations.
Two weeks after saying yes to my team coordinator my landlord informed me he was selling the house. WHAT!!!!…We have a great relationship, I was to be the forever tenant. Clearly the universe had other plans. I took a breath.
Within a few hours of the shock wearing off a voice inside of me whispered, “Move back to Montreal.” WHAT????? That was not anywhere in my awareness.
New Space…New Energy
YES, I have been saying, “I need to sit in a different energy field.” At no time in my thoughts did that include moving…out of province. So…within three months I moved back home. Back to Montreal, where I grew up, and back to my family home.
There were meltdowns, exhaustion, unfamiliarity in the familiar, and now an invitation to once again live with someone…my dad. Settling in took time. The question…
“Who am I now in this old/new familiar space?”
In the midst of saying yes to doing some inner work, and shifting how I presented my business, an opportunity to collaborate and write a chapter in Brian Tracy’s new book Emerge Be the Unmistakeable Authority in Your Field emerged. It was launched in October and became an #1 International Best Seller. WOW!!! Now I’m an author, something I never thought I would be.
We are the manifestors of our world…
For at least two years prior to all of this I had a sense that things needed to change. That I had to shake things up…I just had no idea how or what to do.
It took relaxing and surrendering into something bigger than myself. Saying YES to the invitations that presented with no clue where they would take me, and, choosing to breath through it all, staying in all the uncomfortable moments. It also took a willingness to let others see me in my vulnerable moments.
So here I am, in a new city, another province, starting a new adventure. I’m still shaking off the dust from all that’s unfolded. With no clue where I’ll be taking myself, knowing I’m in for the ride!
Consider the last time you shook things up in your world…Who did you become?
Until the next time!
