It is that time of year for us to choose how we are going to BE in the new Year.
In the past I have written about setting an intention rather than a resolution for the new year. As I reflect on what 2017 was, and what 2018 has the potential to be, I have the sense that choosing who I am evolving into will determine how I will engage the new year. 2017 was an intense year. I sold my house, lived with friends, found a new place, experienced terror in freedom, engaged in amazing conversations, created a new website, collaborated with colleagues, embraced sisterhood, and took a much needed pause.
Grief has been present as I say goodbye to 2017. Grief of releasing myself from old beliefs, values and habits that no longer allow me to become MORE, and allowed me to be ‘stuck’ in limbo. Limbo has been an intelligent place to be. It allowed me to see habituated patterns I was not aware of until now. I discovered other deeply hidden conversations I engaged internally about not choosing mySELF. I also discovered a subtle difference between grief and loss…more on that another time. Some the key words that were essential to my discoveries included terror, freedom, addictive thought patterns, and ALL possibilities existing in every breath.
Growth and evolution occurs naturally
Sitting here today, I am fully aware that 2018 is beginning very differently. This year is about my EMERGING SELF. My intention for 2018 is to reveal to mySELF and to others the secrets I keep hidden deep within as the gateway for me to BECOME so much MORE. Growth and evolution occurs in many ways, we are the only ones that slow it down. For 2018, I am choosing to leap into the unknown of my emerging SELF, to trust my intuition and the impulses that accompany it, to allow mySELF to be in the discomfort of truths rising to the surface, and to take action as the gateway to see the creations that live within.
This is my wish for you…
BE YourSELF, Trust your Intuition, be gentle with yourself in Discomfort, and know that taking action will offer possibilities you cannot imagine.
WELCOME to 2018!
Until the next time,
